Critical Approaches to Discourse Analysis Across Disciplines (CADAAD)
Dear CADAAD community: We are pleased to announce the first issue of a new online journal Critical Approaches to Discourse Analysis Across Disciplines, published 10 February 2007. The inaugural issue comprises selected proceedings of the CADAAD 06 Conference. Space for further discussion of the articles published in the journal is available in the CADAAD Journal Forum. We are hereby inviting submissions for Issue 2, which is scheduled for release on 10 July 2007. Submissions deadline for this issue is 15 May 2007. Whilst it is CDA that has claimed the most attention, CADAAD eJournal is intended to provide a free but formal, peer-reviewed publishing platform for researchers across disciplines sharing a commitment to critical engagement with discourse. Contributions which focus on analysis or methodological develeopment are both welcomed. On the one hand then, along side areas typically subject to investigation, such as racism, we welcome critical discourse analyses directed towards applied and professional areas such as medicine, environmental studies, engineering, social policy, education, law, etc. On the other hand, where the methodological foundations of critical discourse analysis historically lie with linguistics (from transformational to systemic functional grammar) and ethnography, more recently critical approaches to discourse analysis have benefited from a wider range of methodologies. We therefore also welcome contributions reflecting the theoretical advances in linguistics, psychology and cognitive science amongst other disciplines which offer the opportunity for critical approaches to discourse analysis to expand their methodological arsenal. ISSN: 1752-3079 Frequency: bianually, every 10 February and 10 July Christopher Hart (University of Hertfordshire) and Dominik Lukes (University of East Anglia)
